Built-in Bluetooth Smart

The wireless solution for setting up, monitoring and updating the SmartSolar charge controller.

Ultra-fast maximum power point tracking (MPPT)

Especially in overcast conditions, when the light intensity is constantly changing, an extremely fast MPPT controller improves the energy yield by up to 30 % compared to PWM charging controllers and by up to 10 % compared to slower MPPT controllers.

Advanced maximum power point detection with partial shading

In the case of partial shading, there may be two or more maximum power points (MPP) on the current-voltage curve.
Conventional MPPTs tend to adjust to a local MPP. However, this may not be the optimum MPP.
The innovative algorithm of the SmartSolar device will always maximize the energy yield by adjusting to the optimal MPP.

Outstanding efficiency

No cooling fan. Maximum efficiency of over 99 %.

Flexible charging algorithms

Fully programmable charging algorithm (see also the software page on our website) and eight pre-programmed algorithms that can be selected via a rotary knob (see our manual for more details).

Comprehensive electronic protection

Overheating protection and load reduction at high temperatures.
Protection against PV short circuit and PV reverse polarity.
PV reverse current protection.

Internal temperature sensor and optional external battery voltage and temperature measurement via Bluetooth

With a Smart Battery Sense, a BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor or a SmartShunt, the voltage and temperature of the battery (and current, in the case of a BMV-712 or a SmartShunt) can be transmitted to one or more SmartSolar charge controllers.

Synchronized parallel charging with Bluetooth

Up to 10 devices can be synchronized via Bluetooth.

Recovery function for fully discharged batteries

Will initiate charging even if the battery has been discharged to zero volts.
Will reconnect to a fully discharged lithium-ion battery with internal disconnect function.

VE.Direct

For a wired data connection with a Color Control GX, other GX products, a PC or other devices.

Remote-controlled on/off switching

FAQ

The technology used was developed by the Austrian photovoltaic manufacturer DAS Energy in Wiener Neustadt and essentially consists of the proprietary fiber-reinforced plastic core (prepreg). This layer is located above and below the cell and is mainly responsible for the flexibility and stability of the DAS Energy module. Monocrystalline cells are used. Further information on request.

DAS Energy modules can be glued to a smooth surface. The modules can also be attached using magnets and quick-release systems, as with the DAS Energy balcony power plant. With the golf cart PV roof, the module is attached to the roof of the golf cart using double-sided adhesive tape and screws.

As with conventional modules, shading should be avoided. Should shading nevertheless occur, all modules have bypass diodes that disconnect the shaded parts of the module to minimize yield losses. 

Shading should be avoided at all costs with balcony power plants, as the module will not provide any power if it is shaded. Before purchasing a balcony power plant, it is therefore essential to check whether shading (e.g. from trees, house walls, etc.) could affect the performance of the module. 

The purchased modules can be returned in their original packaging within 14 days at your own expense or directly to the store upon presentation of the original invoice receipt. Refunds will normally be madewithin one week.
